Manager, Distribution Engineering (Electric Utilities)

What you will do

• Oversee day-to-day electric distribution engineering and design deliverables.
• Mentor and develop supervisors, engineers, and field staff.
• Enforce design standards, QA/QC processes, and safety expectations.
• Support client relationships and reliable service delivery.
• Partner with leadership on regional programs, staffing, execution, and contract performance.
• Drive process improvements, operational discipline, resource planning, and cost awareness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Electrical Engineering background strongly preferred.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience, including 3–5 years in leadership or people management.
• Experience leading engineering teams in utility distribution, EPC, or consulting environments.
• Strong understanding of electric distribution systems, utility standards, and safety requirements.
• Ability to mentor engineers and supervisors, engage clients, and balance technical detail with leadership decisions.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with hardening and resiliency programs, reliability programs, or revenue-generating distribution initiatives.
