Forward Deployed AI Manager

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; office or hybrid work required. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

Salary: $165,010.21–$226,889.04 annually, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary teams of AI engineers and business advisors delivering AI solutions to business users.
• Drive AI-powered solutions for complex business problems and manage the transition from use-case discovery to engineering delivery.
• Develop delivery schedules, monitor project costs, and manage resources for timely, budget-conscious execution.
• Ensure AI development complies with security, data, engineering, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Build relationships with business leaders, identify new AI opportunities, and maintain the delivery pipeline.
• Present project status, adoption, and ROI updates to senior management and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline.
• Typically 6+ years of progressive software or AI engineering experience, including 2+ years of people or team management experience.
• Thorough understanding of software and AI development principles and practices.
• Experience with AI/LLM platforms, tools, or automation technologies and their application to business problems.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams of engineers and business-facing advisors and communicate technical information clearly.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience recruiting, assigning, directing, and evaluating staff and developing team competence.
• Experience coordinating resources, tools, processes, training, and staffing for programs.
• Experience preparing schedules, budgets, bids, and estimates for program work packages.
• Background in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Experience presenting to non-technical executives and building business-unit buy-in in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
