Energetics Operator II - 3rd Shift (Explosives Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Penrose, CO and Pueblo, CO. 3rd shift: 8:30 PM–7:00 AM MDT, Monday–Thursday. Initial training lasts 30–45 days on 1st shift.

Salary: $26.40 per hour on 3rd shift, including a 10% shift differential. Training is paid at $24.00 per hour on 1st shift.

What you will do

• Operate production lines and mechanical or automated equipment according to work instructions and production targets.
• Perform in-process inspections using scales, gauges, and other basic measuring tools, and document quality results.
• Support equipment setups, changeovers, tooling, fixtures, and basic parameter adjustments.
• Maintain production, quality, and downtime records in logs or ERP/MES systems.
• Train and mentor Operator I employees on safe operation and standard work.
• Follow explosive-safety, 5S, housekeeping, PPE, and continuous-improvement procedures.

Requirements

• Must be able and willing to work the 3rd shift schedule.
• Working knowledge of hazardous-material handling and explosive-safety principles.
• Ability to follow complex instructions, batch sheets, and production travelers accurately.
• Experience operating mechanical or automated production equipment, with basic mechanical aptitude.
• Must be at least 21 years old, pass a pre-employment drug test, complete state and federal background checks, and obtain and maintain required explosives licenses.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual.
