Legal Counsel (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States; hybrid for candidates within a commutable distance of the Chicago, Illinois office

What you will do

• Advise HR on hiring, performance management, internal investigations, and employment-law compliance.
• Oversee litigation and dispute resolution, including outside counsel, litigation strategy, and pre-litigation matters.
• Review service-provider engagements and commercial procurement agreements while improving related processes.
• Advise on deal structures and negotiate SaaS, partnership, licensing, and services agreements.
• Identify, mitigate, resolve, and escalate cross-functional legal risks and disputes.
• Improve legal processes, policies, and contract templates in alignment with company goals.

Requirements

• Law degree and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
• 3+ years of experience in an in-house legal role.
• Experience with employment, litigation and disputes, and commercial contracting.
• Analytical, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management under tight deadlines.

• Experience with SaaS technology, intellectual property, partner ecosystems, and privacy matters.
