Sr. Customer Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Duluth, Georgia, or Carlsbad, California; US citizenship is required. The role includes up to 15% domestic and international travel.

Salary: $141,500–$224,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area, the range is $176,000–$264,000 annually.

What you will do

• Represent quality in customer relationships and address product quality concerns.
• Lead customer-facing quality investigations, corrective actions, and quality reviews.
• Drive RCCA activities using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, and FMEA.
• Lead PPAP implementation and validation with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Partner with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations, and supply chain across the product lifecycle.
• Support new product introduction, audits, AS9100 compliance, quality metrics, and improvement plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, operations, or engineering within product development and manufacturing.
• Extensive experience with PPAP methodologies and customer-facing quality issues.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100, Lean Six Sigma, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, 8D, and 5 Why analysis.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and manufacturing documentation.
• US citizenship required; ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Supplier auditing and new production introduction experience.
• Experience with telecommunications, aerospace, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing products.
• AS9100 or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training or certification.
• Supplier Quality Engineering experience and knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.
• Experience with Oracle, Agile, and global manufacturing or supply chain organizations.
