Supplier Quality Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; Workplace: On-site. Travel to supplier and manufacturing sites may be required domestically and internationally for up to approximately 50% of the time. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under space technology export regulations.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of Supplier Quality Engineers, including hiring, workload planning, performance management, and career development.
• Manage supplier quality budgets, staffing plans, resources, processes, and documentation.
• Oversee supplier qualification, performance reviews, risk assessments, relationship management, audits, and source inspections.
• Drive supplier compliance with AS9100, customer, industry, regulatory, and contractual quality requirements.
• Oversee supplier nonconformance investigations, root-cause corrective actions, SCAR resolution, and dispositions such as rework, scrap, and RMA.
• Analyze supplier metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen supplier capability and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
• At least 7 years of related experience, including 1–3 years of leadership or management experience with direct supervision of quality or supplier quality engineering staff.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001 quality management systems, and aerospace supplier quality requirements.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, supplier qualification, PPAP, and First Article Inspection under AS9102.
• Working knowledge of SPC, quality inspection methods, ITAR, EAR, and DFARS requirements.
• Experience with ERP/MRP, QMS, PLM, statistical analysis, and Microsoft Office tools; familiarity with Acumatica, SAP, or Minitab is relevant.

Nice to have

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Manager, or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
