Supplier Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Kent, Washington, United States; onsite manufacturing role.

What you will do

• Define supplier quality plans, inspection criteria, incoming verification requirements, and maintain supplier quality documentation.
• Lead supplier non-conformance disposition, containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct supplier audits, assessments, surveillance, and corrective-action closure activities.
• Lead technical review boards, strategic quality planning, supplier development programs, and supply chain risk-mitigation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain on supplier qualification, sourcing decisions, and quality flow-down requirements.
• Use supplier metrics, predictive analytics, and digital quality systems to improve supplier performance; mentor lower-level quality engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of quality engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, Nadcap, compliance requirements, supplier quality methodologies, PPAP/APQP-based processes, and risk-based supplier management.
• Experience interpreting drawings and specifications, including MBD, and familiarity with precision measurement and inspection methods.
• Proficiency with digital quality tools, data analytics, predictive methods, supplier performance metrics, and SPC-based problem solving.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, qualifying temporary resident, refugee, or person granted asylum.

Nice to have

• Lean/Six Sigma certification, ASQ CQE certification, or Lead Auditor training.
• Experience with composite materials, lean manufacturing, or purchasing and buyer activities.
