Manufacturing Engineer I, Mechanical Assembly Second Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. Onsite second-shift position starting at 3:00 PM PT.

Salary: $90,000–$136,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Own vehicle subassembly hardware from design release through build, testing, and delivery.
• Develop and release build flows, work instructions, test procedures, and production documentation.
• Support first-article builds and create scalable processes for higher production rates.
• Provide hands-on floor support, resolve non-conformances, incorporate technician feedback, and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate design, supply chain, production, and test teams on part readiness, tooling, schedules, and handoffs.
• Contribute to manufacturing infrastructure, tooling strategies, and ERP/MES workflows.

Requirements

• Engineering or related technical degree and at least one year of hands-on experience building and testing hardware in a manufacturing or integration environment.
• Experience investigating hardware issues, resolving non-conformances, and conducting root cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Familiarity with assembly and testing, including tolerance stack-up analysis, structural proof testing, and pressurized leak checks.
• Ability to collaborate across design, manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams.
• Proficiency in GD&T, CAD, and basic design or test analysis.
• Experience with at least two of LOX cleanliness, leak checking, sensor checkouts, tube bending, tool design, crane operations, or subassembly builds.

Nice to have

• Aerospace product introduction or experience transitioning hardware from prototype to production.
• Experience authoring and executing test procedures or serving as a test conductor.
• Familiarity with hazardous operations, fluid system safety, or pressurized testing.
• Experience in lean environments, vendor engagement, tool development, or leading small build or test efforts.
