TL;DR
Quality Specialist (Aerospace Manufacturing): Executing product and process surveillance across aerospace manufacturing cells with an accent on first article inspection, audit execution, and real-time nonconformance intervention. Focus on reducing scrap and cost of poor quality, analyzing quality trends, supporting root cause and corrective actions, and strengthening APQP and digital quality systems.

Location: Fully onsite in Chandler, Arizona, United States, five days per week. Daily hours may vary according to production needs and floor coverage. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for employment due to U.S. Government contract requirements.

Salary: $66,900–$124,300 per year; exempt position.

What you will do

  • Execute proactive product surveillance audits across aerospace manufacturing programs and observe builds in real time.
  • Verify inspection criteria, work instructions, documentation, traceability, PPE, hazardous material controls, and calibration status.
  • Pause or stop production when nonconformances are identified and coordinate resolution with Operations, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Support AS9102 First Article Inspection activities, parts inspection reviews, and build-record closeout.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions using 5-Why, Fishbone, and 8D methods.
  • Analyze quality data with Excel, Pareto charts, Power BI, and ERP/SAP-type systems to reduce scrap, rework, defects, and cost of poor quality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing and hands-on AS9102 First Article Inspection and parts inspection activities.
  • Ability to independently conduct product and process audits with minimal oversight.
  • Working knowledge of root cause analysis, corrective action, GD&T, manufacturing inspection principles, measurement tools, and quality documentation.
  • Proficiency with Excel and ERP/SAP-type environments, with the ability to use Power BI or similar reporting tools.
  • Ability to work fully onsite in Chandler, Arizona, and meet the U.S. citizenship eligibility requirement.

Nice to have

  • AS9100 audit experience or knowledge of AS9100 requirements.
  • Exposure to APQP tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP.
  • Six Sigma training or certification.
  • ASQ certification or experience in high-reliability or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field; equivalent experience may substitute.
