TL;DR
CDx R&D Research Associate, Representative (Companion Diagnostics): Developing accurate, robust, and precise companion diagnostic assays for targeted anti-cancer therapies with an accent on immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, microscopy, and quantitative data analysis. Focus on designing and optimizing assays, solving technical development problems, and executing research in a highly regulated quality system.

Location: Carpinteria, California, United States; hybrid schedule with at least 3 on-site days per week

Salary: $73,958–$115,560 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits

hirify.global’s Companion Diagnostics Business develops, manufactures, and commercializes in vitro diagnostic devices supporting targeted cancer therapies and precision medicine.

What you will do

  • Support clinical-trial testing for new targeted anti-cancer drugs by developing tailored companion diagnostic assays.
  • Conduct research and development of immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and potentially molecular biology-based assays.
  • Plan experiments, execute technical design tasks, analyze quantitative data, interpret results, and prepare reports.
  • Help define optimal product development paths and lead applicable projects in coordination with internal functions and suppliers.
  • Write scientific protocols and reports while solving technical design problems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and apply the quality management system in a regulated development environment.

Requirements

  • BS/BA or MS/MA in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of related laboratory experience.
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry and microscopy.
  • Ability to follow quality system regulations, including Design Control.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively; proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

  • Experience with in situ hybridization, fluorescent techniques, protein biochemistry, cell biology, or molecular biology.
  • Background in tumor biology, immunology, or histology.
  • Experience with assay or protocol development.
  • Participation in scientific conferences or contributions to scientific journals.
