Sr. Research Associate/Associate Scientist, Nonclinical Development (Biotechnology)

Location: Redwood City, California, United States; onsite at least three days per week, with Tuesday–Thursday mandatory.

Salary: $108,000–$150,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Coordinate and execute in vivo and ex vivo nonclinical studies evaluating immune-cell and gene-therapy platforms.
• Support efficacy, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic, and safety assessments in murine oncology and immunology models.
• Contribute to study design, experimental planning, timelines, and data-driven program decisions.
• Coordinate study execution with cross-functional teams and external contract research organizations, troubleshooting technical challenges.
• Perform mouse necropsies and process tissues for flow cytometry, qPCR/ddPCR, ELISA, and mechanism-of-action analyses.
• Maintain complete and organized experimental records in accordance with internal quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related field with 5+ years of relevant R&D experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Industry experience designing, executing, analyzing, and interpreting in vivo studies using murine xenograft or humanized immunology models, preferably in immuno-oncology.
• Experience administering therapeutic agents and establishing xenograft models through intravenous, intraperitoneal, and subcutaneous routes in mice.
• Proficiency in blood collection, tissue necropsy, and sample processing for flow cytometry.
• Experience with aseptic mammalian cell culture and preparation of human cancer cell lines for in vivo studies.
• Hands-on experience with in vivo bioluminescence or fluorescence imaging using IVIS platforms, plus strong data-analysis, communication, and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR/ddPCR, and cytokine bead-based assays.
