Associate Scientist, Chemistry

Location: Onsite in North Chicago, Illinois, United States

Salary: $75,000–$142,500 per year base compensation, with eligibility for short-term incentive programs.

What you will do

• Develop organic chemistry processes and execute experiments at scale for potential therapies, including small molecules and antibody drug conjugates.
• Conduct independent experimentation and generate reliable, consistent data.
• Analyze data to guide process development and troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.
• Support process chemistry and manufacturing controls at commercial sites.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities during commercial production.
• Present technical topics and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with typically 3 or more years of experience, or a master’s degree with no additional experience required.
• Functional expertise in modern synthetic organic chemistry, compound purification, and spectral analysis and interpretation.
• Ability to solve problems using laboratory and literature-based resources.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow standards for safety, quality, material handling, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable.
