TL;DR
Senior Advanced Engineer - Technology Center (Marine Engineering): Developing advanced fiberglass, mechanical, electrical, laminate, and structural systems for boat programs with an accent on 3D surface modeling, complex mechanism development, and manufacturing integration. Focus on validating designs, coordinating suppliers, reviewing engineering drawings, and ensuring performance, cost, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Location: Edgewater, Florida, United States; onsite. Travel is required, with a minimum of 10%. Relocation is available. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Salary: $82,600–$133,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

  • Generate 3D surface models of decks, liners, and small parts for 5-axis milling and tooling design.
  • Lead engineering design development for assigned boat areas, including fiberglass, mechanical, electrical, structural, and laminate systems.
  • Design, engineer, and validate complex hinges and mechanisms using 3D models and 2D specification drawings.
  • Support industrial design with space-claim analysis, feasibility studies, material specifications, and cost analysis.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, program management, dealers, and customers to develop and launch new systems and components.
  • Review drawings, validate performance and compliance, analyze warranty and field issues, and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline; significant experience may substitute.
  • 3–5+ years of marine product design experience with knowledge of manufacturing and production processes.
  • Experience with computer-aided design, preferably Siemens NX; SolidWorks, Catia, Creo, or Pro-E experience is also relevant.
  • Excellent 3D solid and free-surface modeling skills, familiarity with finite element analysis, and understanding of component and assembly interactions at the system level.
  • Experience developing complex mechanisms for customer-facing products and managing multiple engineering projects.
  • Current United States work authorization is required; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Boating experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or experience.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA and DFMEA.
