Project Engineer (Advanced Composites)

Location: Kent, Washington, USA; onsite at a manufacturing facility

Salary: $85,354–$146,320 annual salary or hourly wage rate

What you will do

• Lead capital projects from planning and design through implementation, commissioning, startup, qualification, and hand-off.
• Manage the site capital spending program, including planning, expenditure requests, forecasting, tracking, reconciliation, and monthly spending targets.
• Scope and estimate capital projects up to $5M, manage procurement, control costs and schedules, and coordinate vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Prepare, interpret, and maintain engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Design, evaluate, and troubleshoot instrumentation, controls, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, and heat-transfer systems.
• Support capital initiatives at a secondary regional facility while minimizing operational impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant engineering or related experience.
• Experience managing capital projects or performing project engineering responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of instrumentation, electrical, civil, mechanical, and chemical engineering disciplines, including engineering and construction drawings.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and deadline-management skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, qualifying temporary resident, refugee, or person granted asylum.

Nice to have

• Experience with safety analysis, mechanical design drawings, Six Sigma improvement principles, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and material balances.
• Experience with international projects and willingness to travel as required.
