Mechanical Engineer (Aerospace): Designing and analyzing mechanical and electromechanical aerospace products while managing assigned proposals, projects, investigations, costs, and schedules with an accent on product architecture, performance, reliability, materials, and safety. Focus on finite element analysis, CAD-based 3D modeling, technical requirements flow-down, drawing release, non-conforming hardware assessment, and cross-functional delivery of compliant products.
Location: Elyria, Ohio, United States; onsite at the Elyria facility. Occasional travel to customer and supplier facilities is required, and a passport is required. Access to controlled data may be restricted to US Persons under ITAR requirements.

What you will do
- Own assigned proposals, projects, investigations, and related engineering activities under the guidance of a supervising manager.
- Manage project costs, schedules, technical requirements, specifications, records, and customer deliverables.
- Lead product design and analysis across architecture, configuration, mechanical and electromechanical performance, weight, reliability, materials, and safety.
- Create, review, and approve product drawings, release packages, revisions, and supporting design documentation.
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, suppliers, customers, and other functional groups to meet performance, cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Support Material Review Board assessments of non-conforming hardware and participate in process improvement and Kaizen activities.
Requirements
- 0–8+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering preferred.
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics, statics and dynamics, mechanical component design, vibration, stress and strain, coatings, heat treating, metallurgy, strength of materials, drawing layouts and stack-ups, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Experience with finite element analysis, preferably Ansys; CAD drafting and 3D solid modeling, preferably Creo; and basic programming.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, communicate effectively, and oversee, coach, or mentor supporting engineers and assigned personnel.
- Must be able to work at the Elyria, Ohio location; US Person eligibility may be required for controlled-data access.
