TL;DR
Sr Mechanical Engineer (Aerospace): Leading complex mechanical engineering projects and developing advanced mechanical systems with an accent on design analysis, CAD/CAE tools, and aerospace system performance. Focus on performing FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring engineers while supporting high-visibility ISR and aviation programs.

Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States; office or hybrid environment. Occasional travel may be required. U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

What you will do

  • Lead complex mechanical engineering projects from concept through execution, ensuring technical quality and on-time delivery.
  • Guide the design, development, and refinement of advanced mechanical systems.
  • Perform high-level analyses, simulations, and design evaluations to improve performance and reliability.
  • Prepare, review, and present technical documentation, analyses, and reports.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, internal partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers while strengthening engineering rigor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; a higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical design principles and proficiency with industry-standard CAD tools.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering tools and strong application of core engineering principles.
  • Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD in a related field.
  • Experience with GD&T according to ASME Y14.5.
  • Knowledge of FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis.
  • Background in aerospace and defense, aircraft or space environmental requirements, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience providing technical guidance to diverse engineering teams.
