TL;DR
Special Assistant (Project Analysis, Analyst) (Federal Government Operations): Coordinating communications, taskings, schedules, clearances, and office operations for a Federal government client with an accent on process flow management, document analysis, and executive support. Focus on prioritizing conflicting deadlines, improving operational efficiency, managing information across Department of State stakeholders, and maintaining SharePoint and Teams sites.

Location: On-site in Washington, DC; travel up to 10%.

Salary: $95,000–$111,000 per year.

What you will do

  • Coordinate communications, taskings, information flow, and deliverables across Department of State offices, Federal agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Process document clearance requests and coordinate reviews with team leads and division chiefs.
  • Plan and manage schedules, meetings, invitations, briefing materials, minutes, and notes.
  • Track deadlines, prioritize conflicting needs, and follow projects through completion under time pressure.
  • Analyze incoming memos, submissions, and reports and determine their significance and distribution.
  • Manage biweekly time and attendance submissions, provide office procedure support, and maintain SharePoint and Teams sites.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience, including 1–3 years as a management consultant or high-level executive assistant.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and judgment skills.
  • Ability to evaluate operational efficiency, plan and conduct projects or studies, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC.

Nice to have

  • Experience with or knowledge of Department of State operations, especially Consular Affairs.
  • Experience with a Federal agency document clearance process.
