TL;DR
Associate Director, US Government Affairs (Biotech): Monitoring federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory activities affecting GenScript and ProBio with an accent on government affairs communications, policy reporting, and relationships with elected officials and regulatory agencies. Focus on developing key messages, escalating time-sensitive risks, organizing stakeholder engagements, and supporting political action committee activities.

Location: Piscataway, New Jersey, United States — onsite

Salary: $150,000–$160,000 annually, based on experience

What you will do

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory activities at federal, state, and local levels that may affect hirify.global and ProBio.
  • Develop monitoring systems, periodic reports, and escalations for critical time-sensitive matters.
  • Create presentations, government affairs messages, internal updates, press releases, media pitches, and executive speeches.
  • Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, government staff, regulatory agencies, industry stakeholders, and community leaders.
  • Organize tours and onsite or offsite meetings to support external relationships.
  • Inform internal leaders about business risks and support hirify.global USA Political Action Committee activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, International Relations, Political Science, a scientific discipline, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of government affairs experience, or equivalent experience as a legislative assistant or in political operations.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English, including press releases, media pitches, and executive speeches.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, influencing, cultural agility, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt flexibly to complex situations and maintain a global perspective.

Nice to have

  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare experience.
