Associate Director, Financial Services and Digital Infrastructure Policy

Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States; based in the Washington, DC office

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Coordinate day-to-day activity across financial services and digital infrastructure client accounts and sub-projects.
• Develop persuasive messaging and communications materials on complex policy, legislative, regulatory, legal, and reputational issues.
• Monitor evolving policy, political, economic, technology, infrastructure, and media-reporting trends affecting clients.
• Create media outreach strategies, cultivate contacts, and pitch stories to local and national news outlets.
• Manage tasks, deadlines, and multiple client projects from concept through completion.
• Support new business efforts and collaborate with government relations, advertising, content, and public opinion research teams.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in a related field and 5–9 years of relevant experience.
• Strong writing and communications skills, including newspaper-style and social media writing.
• Experience developing media contacts, pitching stories, and understanding the factors that drive media coverage.
• Strong attention to detail, project management, client-relations, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Strategic understanding of how economic, policy, technology, and infrastructure issues affect client communications.
• Experience with financial services, technology, energy, digital infrastructure, or related policy issues is preferred.
