Senior Manager, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting (Biotechnology)

Location: South San Francisco, CA; onsite at headquarters four days per week, with work-from-home flexibility

Salary: $162,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the preparation, review, and filing of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and the annual proxy statement.
• Own financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, disclosure checklists, tie-out documentation, and reporting workpapers.
• Manage quarterly and annual reporting calendars, coordinate cross-functional inputs, and resolve review comments.
• Research complex accounting matters, prepare technical accounting memoranda, and present conclusions to management and external auditors.
• Monitor U.S. GAAP and SEC developments, support SOX compliance, and improve control documentation and operating effectiveness.
• Oversee equity accounting, stock administration, audit coordination, Audit Committee materials, tax provision support, and reporting process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and an active CPA license.
• At least eight years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and public-company industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, financial statement presentation, disclosure practices, and SOX-compliant processes.
• Experience preparing and reviewing Forms 10-K and 10-Q, technical accounting memoranda, and external audit documentation.
• Experience with stock-based compensation, earnings per share, equity transactions, collaboration arrangements, leases, and other significant transactions.
• Strong communication, organization, project management, judgment, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Biotechnology or life sciences experience.
• Experience with NetSuite, an equity administration platform, and SEC reporting software.
