Fleet Mechanic (Diesel)

Location: Stockton, California, United States; onsite fleet-shop work

Salary: $33–$38 per hour, depending on experience.

hirify.global is recruiting for a petroleum distributor serving commercial and retail fuel partners across California.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair delivery trucks through preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Track maintenance records and Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), ensuring issues are documented and addressed.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, air-conditioning, and air-brake system issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
• Communicate effectively and resolve maintenance problems independently and collaboratively.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of Class A diesel fleet mechanic duties and responsibilities.
• Knowledge of air brakes and related plumbing.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and A/C systems.
• Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and CHP mechanical requirements for HAZMAT fleets conducting intrastate commerce.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and background screen.

Nice to have

• Tanker fabrication and aluminum repair experience.
• CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
