Diesel Shop Technician A (Heavy-Duty Trucks)

Location: Altamont, NY, USA; onsite

Pay: $28.50–$39.22 per hour, depending on locality

What you will do

• Repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel heavy-duty trucks and fleet equipment.
• Diagnose and repair chassis, suspension, drivetrain, steering, transmission, brake, engine, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Service refuse bodies, controls, hydraulic systems, air brakes, HVAC components, and diesel fuel systems.
• Diagnose aftertreatment and REGEN systems using electronic tools and scan equipment.
• Perform line maintenance, welding, and fabrication both onsite and on the road.
• Complete company training programs and support drivers operating collection routes.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience working as a technician on heavy-duty trucks.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate strong technical expertise.
• Ability to independently inspect and repair several heavy-truck or automotive systems, including suspension and steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrains, and diesel emissions.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications T1–T8 are advantageous but not required.
• CDL Class B or higher is advantageous; CDL B is preferred. LNG or CNG experience is also advantageous.
