Testing & Commissioning Technician I (Substation Protection)

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite substation work

Salary: USD $28.00–$39.90 per hour, varying by experience, education, skills, and location. An annual discretionary bonus may also be available.

What you will do

• Test and perform routine maintenance on substation relaying, control systems, and voltage regulation equipment.
• Calibrate protective relays and apply relay settings according to standards and operational requirements.
• Program Load Tap Changing and voltage regulator controllers.
• Troubleshoot and repair relays and control devices in distribution substations.
• Plan and execute testing activities while maintaining service continuity and schedules.
• Document testing procedures, results, and equipment configurations accurately.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience with commissioning, panel and equipment checkout, relay calibration, testing, or repair of substation relaying and control schemes.
• Ability to learn and apply testing procedures for different types of substation equipment.
• Experience installing and testing SCADA, fault data, Sequence of Events Recorder, and integration-automation equipment.
• Ability to work onsite in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
