Sr Software Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; hybrid work environment with occasional travel.

Estimated starting salary: $143,487.14–$197,294.82 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead strategic projects to develop and optimize software systems for aerospace applications.
• Collaborate with design, hardware, quality, and other cross-functional teams to meet performance and quality standards.
• Define and implement software requirements and specifications with stakeholders.
• Conduct advanced code reviews and drive continuous improvement in software performance and reliability.
• Develop software documentation, including design specifications and user manuals.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Expert proficiency in C++, Java, or Python.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required for employment; non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible for the required clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, real-time operating systems, or embedded systems.
• Background in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Experience with C, C#, HTML, Bash, requirements tracking, static analysis, artifact repositories, and automated builds.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, or Spiral methodologies and strong data structures skills.
