Software Engineer I

Location: Hybrid position in Sterling, Virginia, United States; periodic work at the hirify.global location is required.

Salary: $55,000–$106,000 annually, based on qualifications, experience, and expertise.

What you will do

• Assist with the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications.
• Build user interfaces using visualization technologies.
• Write clean, scalable, and efficient code under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Debug existing software and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming.
• Collaborate with product management, QA, and engineering teams while contributing to technical documentation and user guides.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong foundation in at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
• Basic understanding of software development principles and data structures.
• Familiarity with Git or another version control system.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Less than two years of prior relevant experience and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with React, Angular, Node, or another visualization framework.
• SQL or NoSQL data manipulation and extraction experience.
• Experience with Databricks, CI/CD concepts, or AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Certifications in Azure, AWS development, Java, GitHub, GitLab, IT fundamentals, or software development methodologies.
