Software Engineer III (Aerospace)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; hybrid environment with occasional travel.

Estimated starting salary: $108,496.89–$149,183.22 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, testing, and optimization of complex software components and systems.
• Debug and troubleshoot advanced software issues while improving performance and quality.
• Define software requirements and specifications with stakeholders.
• Support software integration with hardware systems.
• Conduct code reviews, maintain detailed documentation, and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in C++, Java, or Python.
• Practical knowledge of software engineering principles and practices.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with RTOS and embedded systems.
• Aerospace and defense industry background.
• Knowledge of C, C#, C++, HTML, Java, Python, and Bash.
• Experience with requirements tracking, code review, static analysis, repositories, and automated build tools.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, Spiral, and data structures.
