TL;DR
Associate Director – Workforce – Healthcare (Workforce Management and Healthcare Operations): Designing and implementing integrated workforce management solutions for healthcare organizations with an accent on capacity planning, patient flow, ambulatory access, and quantitative modeling. Focus on building demand forecasts, capacity optimization models, simulation tools, dashboards, and decision-support products for executive and operational leaders.

Location: Remote - USA; consistent travel of approximately 75% may be required based on project and client needs.

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 per year. Final title and compensation depend on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

  • Design integrated workforce management solutions covering staffing, resource management, capacity, patient flow, and ambulatory access.
  • Lead advanced demand forecasting, capacity optimization, patient-flow simulation, and access-to-care modeling.
  • Translate clinical and operational data into insights, dashboards, and decision-support tools for executive audiences.
  • Develop reusable frameworks, templates, and methodologies for client engagements.
  • Lead engagements, manage workstreams and client relationships, facilitate working sessions, and present recommendations.
  • Contribute to business development, practice intellectual property, and the mentoring of junior consultants and analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, public health, industrial engineering, operations research, or a related quantitative field is strongly preferred.
  • At least 6 years of consulting or healthcare operations experience focused on workforce management, capacity planning, operations improvement, or analytics.
  • Experience building quantitative models and analytic tools for operational or financial outcomes in healthcare settings.
  • Experience with health systems, hospitals, or large ambulatory networks and initiatives involving staffing, capacity, patient flow, or access.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python or R, plus data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI; strong Excel modeling skills are required.
  • Must provide verification of legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ambulatory network operations, clinic access, scheduling optimization, or care-team redesign.
  • Familiarity with EHRs, workforce management platforms, ADT feeds, and scheduling systems.
  • Knowledge of simulation, optimization, or forecasting methodologies applied to healthcare operations.
