CNC Operator V

Location: Scotts Valley, California, United States; onsite, Sunday–Friday, third shift from 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM

Compensation: $28.80–$38.64 per hour

What you will do

• Load, unload, inspect, deburr, polish, and clean parts during CNC machining operations.
• Operate multiple 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes, including machining automation and secondary operations.
• Maintain production targets, accurate part counts, job records, and a scrap rate below 2%.
• Interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, GD&T, tolerance blocks, surface finishes, and revision notes.
• Execute machine offsets, insert changes, basic setups, maintenance, and cut-down operations.
• Support troubleshooting, process improvements, new product development, prototyping, and operator mentoring.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Highly proficient with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes, including controls and instrumentation.
• Experience with basic machine setups such as length changes on like part families.
• Ability to use calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, and other precision measuring instruments while maintaining tolerances as tight as ±0.0003 inches.
• Ability to perform basic decimal calculations, maintain documentation, and mentor less experienced CNC operators.
