A&R Director - RCA China (Music)

Location: Shanghai, China; regular travel and attendance at artist shows and showcases required.

What you will do

• Identify developing and established artists and label partners for RCA Greater China review, signing, and cooperation.
• Support the Managing Director in setting label priorities, short- and long-term goals, and release timelines.
• Oversee A&R processes, artist engagements, production projects, schedules, reports, and release planning.
• Evaluate songs and projects, identify potential hit singles, and provide creative feedback to artists.
• Manage deal-making, procurement, purchase orders, invoicing, and budget tracking with Finance and BLA.
• Collaborate with Copyright, Royalty, Artist Management, Marketing & Promotion, Data Analytics, Commercial & Sales, and Creative Services teams.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the music industry.
• Strong relationships with artists, songwriters, producers, companies, and other industry resources.
• Knowledge of recording, production, creative, legal, copyright, music publishing, digital marketing, social media, content, streaming, and key industry players.
• Fluent English and Mandarin required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, time-management, collaboration, discretion, and cross-cultural working skills.
