Director of Engineering (Construction Engineering)

What you will do

• Lead project engineering teams through requirements gathering, conceptual and detailed design, fabrication, testing, commissioning, training, and support.
• Manage escalations and guide teams through projects that are not meeting expectations.
• Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and develop engineering associates while ensuring appropriate project resourcing.
• Establish, implement, and audit engineering standards, processes, and quality controls in partnership with the PMO.
• Manage resource assignments, load balancing, utilization, efficiency, quality, savings, and portfolio profitability across regions and business units.
• Partner with sales, project operations, PMO, manufacturers, vendors, and clients to deliver complex technology projects and improve execution.

Requirements

• 10+ years of extensive construction engineering experience.
• Demonstrated success managing multi-region or large-scale engineering operations.
• Expertise in engineering delivery lifecycles, systems integration, construction processes, and architectural and construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong financial acumen, business management, utilization tracking, and margin-performance experience.
• Strategic thinking, operational execution, collaboration, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and executive communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Nice to have

• CTS-I and/or CTS-D certification.
• Experience with procurement and cross-training teams in business systems and tools.
