Director of Engineering (Power Engineering)

What you will do

• Manage engineering resources and oversee engineers, designers, and drafters supporting Puerto Rico.
• Lead work across substations, transmission lines, distribution, protection and automation, and civil/structural engineering.
• Manage resource allocation, workload forecasting, QA/QC execution, project budgets, schedules, client relations, and performance targets.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, coaching, training, and performance management for direct and indirect reports.
• Support recruiting, proposals, estimates, business development, technical presentations, and client meetings.
• Ensure compliance with Puerto Rico regulatory, legal, corporate responsibility, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited school or university.
• 15+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills with strong written and oral communication.
• Puerto Rico P.E. certification, or the ability to obtain it in a timely manner, is strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in Puerto Rico.
• Ability to market engineering services externally and support business development activities.

• Advanced degree in Engineering.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
