Financial Analyst III (Manufacturing Finance)

Location: Minneapolis, MN, United States; work may be performed in the company setting, at home, or in a hybrid arrangement, with occasional in-person meetings.

Salary: $105,630–$130,485 annual base pay.

Privately held manufacturer of commercial HVAC systems, operating since 1947 and producing air movement and ventilation solutions for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities worldwide.

What you will do

• Lead monthly financial close, variance analysis, and executive reporting for custom air handling unit operations.
• Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
• Manage manufacturing cost accounting across labor, materials, inventory, and work in process.
• Identify cost and margin variances, determine root causes, and support corrective actions.
• Partner with sales, engineering, and operations on pricing, profitability, and operational performance decisions.
• Build financial models, dashboards, SAP reports, and capital investment analyses, including ROI reviews and post-project audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in operations finance, manufacturing finance, cost accounting, or FP&A within manufacturing.
• Experience with manufacturing cost accounting, variance analysis, inventory accounting, and WIP analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis skills.
• Experience with financial reporting tools, dashboards, ERP data management, and operational analytics.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and sales teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with engineered-to-order, industrial manufacturing, custom products, or commercial HVAC.
• SAP ERP experience.
• Experience in Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments.
• Knowledge of capital investment analysis and operational performance metrics.
