Staff Software Engineer (GenAI Innovation/ Forward Deployed)

Location: Fully remote from a non-hirify.global worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence; listed job location: Universal City, California.

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 yearly, bonus eligible.

What you will do

• Research and test frontier AI technologies and translate capabilities into measurable business value.
• Design and build scalable backends, APIs, data layers, and web interfaces for business applications.
• Integrate agentic AI, foundation models, RAG patterns, and related tooling into production solutions.
• Deploy and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases, cloud applications, and storage.
• Create automated tests and maintain code quality, reliability, and cross-device and cross-browser compatibility.
• Collaborate across a multidisciplinary, matrixed organization and troubleshoot application, cloud, and configuration issues.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend or full-stack software development experience.
• Experience with Python application development, the Python build/test/deployment ecosystem, AWS, database systems, and SQL.
• Strong understanding of foundation-model integration, including instrumentation, feature and model selection, RAG, and some fine-tuning, deep learning, and training concepts.
• Experience designing and consuming APIs in backend and frontend applications.
• Ability to design and implement scalable technical architectures and independently deliver applications from idea to production.
• Strong systems thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills in complex organizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with secured internal networks and complex cloud network configurations.
• Familiarity with large language model integration, AI-generated content technologies, and LangChain.
• Adaptability in fast-changing technology environments and the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
