Staff Software Engineer-AI Solutions (Agentic AI)

Location: US - Ashburn, VA; hybrid position with office attendance confirmed by the Hiring Manager

Salary: $131,600.00–$210,300.00 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize AI-powered solutions within ServiceNow and through external custom integrations.
• Create custom MCP tooling and agentic solutions, orchestrating third-party LLMs such as OpenAI and Google Gemini.
• Identify AI adoption opportunities with stakeholders and deliver intelligent automation and improved user experiences.
• Develop and manage integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise applications across the full lifecycle, including APIs, scripting, and framework deployment.
• Troubleshoot ServiceNow configurations and AI components while ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable operation.
• Define requirements, evaluate configuration options, produce technical documentation, estimate work, and communicate progress in project meetings and daily scrums.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree, 2+ years with an advanced degree, PhD-level entry qualification, or 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience building AI-powered solutions, generative AI applications, agents, or conversational applications.
• Strong Python skills and experience building RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, CSS, REST, SOAP, HTML, APIs, web services, and relational databases.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning, RAG, MCP servers, agent architectures, responsible AI, and multi-agent systems.
• Strong ServiceNow development experience, including UI Policies, Client Scripts, Script Includes, Business Rules, Mid Server, Import Sets, Transform Maps, Update Sets, CMDB, ITSM, and ITOM.

Nice to have

• Certified ServiceNow Admin, Certified Implementation Specialist, or Certified Application Developer certification.
• Experience mentoring junior developers and supporting knowledge transfer across globally distributed teams.
