Principal GenAI Engineer (AI)

Location: 3 days per week onsite in New York City, United States

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 yearly

What you will do

• Lead the design and deployment of LLM-based solutions using prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and agent-based architectures.
• Build, maintain, and review reusable Python and SQL components focused on scalability, efficiency, and performance.
• Deploy generative AI applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP and optimize cloud resource usage.
• Support robust CI/CD processes for production AI systems.
• Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, and business subject-matter experts to define requirements and deliver AI products.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance on machine learning and LLM development.

Requirements

• 8–13 years of experience with ML/AI systems.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, agents, and prompt engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python, LangGraph, and SQL.
• Experience deploying generative AI systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Ability to work onsite in New York City three days per week.
