Director of Learning and Development (EMD / Sleep)

Location: Remote/Home-Based, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; for US-based candidates only. The role requires 30–40% travel.

Base salary: $184,000–$276,000 annually for US-based candidates, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Set the learning and development strategy, priorities, scope, and success measures for the Epilepsy/Movement Disorders and Sleep team.
• Translate disease strategies, launch priorities, and capability needs into role-based learning roadmaps for Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Market Access teams.
• Oversee the design, delivery, facilitation, and continuous improvement of onboarding, launch readiness, key account excellence, and skills training programs.
• Measure training effectiveness and use stakeholder feedback and performance insights to improve learning content and delivery.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of five Senior Training Managers and one Associate Director of Learning and Development.
• Maintain regulatory firewalls and ensure shared strategies and resources comply with corporate, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in learning and development, capability building, or commercial excellence within a pharmaceutical organization.
• 6–8 years of experience leading people, including managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Experience leading teams that include Senior Managers, Associate Directors, or equivalent roles.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, program development, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience developing training for CRM systems, data analytics, digital tools, and field effectiveness.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MBA or relevant graduate degree.
• Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience with rare disease or specialty brands.
• Experience in Sleep and/or Epilepsy.
