Associate Director, Learning and Capability Development (AI)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; hybrid

Base salary: $155,600–$233,400 per year, plus eligibility for variable cash programs and equity for eligible roles.

What you will do

• Develop and evolve the enterprise learning and capability development strategy in alignment with business priorities, talent frameworks, workforce needs, and organizational transformation.
• Translate leadership, talent, and workforce capability requirements into scalable learning journeys, development experiences, performance support, and enablement solutions.
• Architect a modern learning ecosystem integrating instructor-led development, digital learning, coaching, experiential learning, curated content, knowledge resources, external partners, and AI-enabled tools.
• Lead and develop a team responsible for designing, developing, and sourcing learning and capability solutions.
• Partner with Talent Management, HR Business Partners, business leaders, subject matter experts, technology partners, and external providers to address capability gaps and improve workforce readiness.
• Define governance, quality, accessibility, measurement, and continuous-improvement practices for the learning portfolio.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and typically at least 15 years of related experience, including 7+ years of management experience.
• 8+ years of experience in Talent Development, Capability Development, or Learning & Development within a global, matrixed organization.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise learning or capability development strategies aligned with business priorities.
• Experience building scalable digital, blended, and AI-enabled learning ecosystems, including performance support and knowledge resources.
• Experience managing learning vendors, consultants, coaches, content providers, and strategic partnerships.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning, leadership development, capability building, organizational change, consulting, communication, and project management.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting enterprise transformation, digital transformation, or organizational change initiatives.
• Strong AI fluency, including Microsoft Copilot or similar workplace tools used for learning and productivity.
• Experience with Workday Learning, LinkedIn Learning, or similar enterprise learning platforms.
• Experience developing knowledge management resources or employee enablement content.
• Advanced degree or professional certification in Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
