Senior Controls Engineer (SCADA/PLC)

Location: Albany, New York, United States. Full-time position with up to 20% travel as needed.

Salary: $95,040–$142,500 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy software solutions for hydrogen generation, compression, storage, and dispensing systems.
• Create and manage HMI and PLC programs, including process-control and automation solutions.
• Develop methods for data acquisition, interpretation, and performance optimization.
• Lead software deployments and coordinate deliverables with engineering, manufacturing, and field service teams.
• Test software and automation solutions before and after deployment to ensure reliability.
• Refine controls based on field data, support troubleshooting and training, and manage software releases and engineering changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• Five or more years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with PLC programming, including ladder logic, functional block diagrams, and sequential function charts.
• Experience with HMI programming, Schneider automation tools, Allen-Bradley systems, Modbus, data management, SQL, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics.
• Strong analytical, communication, project-management, multitasking, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing HMI and PLC solutions for field applications.
• Experience with gas processing or refueling systems.
