Preventative Maintenance/Machinist Technician-M-F 7A-3P (Manual Machining)

What you will do

• Inspect work areas, identify unsafe conditions, and follow established safety rules and procedures.
• Operate and maintain manual lathes and milling machines.
• Review samples, drawings, blueprints, schematics, and instructions to determine output specifications.
• Measure and mark materials for cutting or shaping using precision tools such as calipers and indicators.
• Plan job sequences, monitor output for consistency, and discard defective parts.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor or major damage.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, trade certificate, and at least 2 years of machinist work experience.
• Education and experience using and maintaining manual lathes and milling machines.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, stooping, and kneeling as required.
• Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment; overtime may include weekdays, weekends, or holidays.

Nice to have

• Vocational school or apprenticeship experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
