Production Director (Live News Broadcasting)

What you will do

• Direct fast-paced local newscasts and other live or recorded productions.
• Coordinate technical operators and supervise on-air talent, technicians, and floor directors.
• Use Sony ELC production automation, Ross XPression, Bitcentral playout, and Calrec Brio systems.
• Collaborate with newscast producers on content, tone, structure, and pace.
• Coordinate with News and Creative Services on graphic elements and contribute ideas that improve the final product.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of directing experience, specifically in news.
• In-depth knowledge of studio and remote broadcasting technology, automated servers, graphics systems, and editing.
• Ability to handle live broadcasts, remain calm during breaking news, solve problems, and think quickly.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
• Availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field preferred; current references and shows with a director’s track required for consideration.
