Location: Full-time on-site at an hirify.global-designated worksite in West Hartford, Connecticut

What you will do

• Prepare, code, and execute live and recorded television news content from control rooms, studios, and remote locations.
• Direct broadcasts by providing timing and instructions to talent and technical personnel.
• Shape broadcast presentation through coordinated video, audio, and graphics production.
• Operate Dalet Galaxy, Ross Xpression, Ross Cambot robotic camera controls, SSL Audio, and Ross Overdrive systems.
• Set up and maintain studio equipment, set pieces, and lighting.
• Refine workflows with management and engineering, document technical procedures, and support station events and special projects.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, journalism, engineering, radio, television and film, operations, media production, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of experience as a newscast Director or Technical Director.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with an Automated Production Control system.
• Must be willing to work on-site in West Hartford, Connecticut, on any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours.
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States and must join or be willing to join the IBEW union.

Nice to have

• Experience with television production systems for mid- to major-market news or live events.
• Expertise with Ross Overdrive production automation, including rundowns, video switchers, audio mixers, camera robotics, graphics, and prompters.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to remain calm during breaking news and severe weather situations.
• Effective communication, creativity, dependability, and solution-focused thinking.
• Spanish language skills.
