Supplier Development Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Anoka, Minnesota, United States; hybrid work format with approximately 30–40% travel

Salary: $76,000–$141,100 per year, with potential eligibility for additional compensation such as annual incentives.

What you will do

• Evaluate supplier readiness and expand supplier capacity for new products and programs.
• Assess supplier capabilities, build improvement roadmaps, and lead execution at supplier sites.
• Deploy Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methods to reduce cost, improve quality, shorten lead times, and increase capacity.
• Partner with sourcing leaders on supplier assessments, transitions, qualifications, and global sourcing initiatives.
• Monitor supplier performance through data analysis, scorecards, and business reviews.
• Conduct risk assessments, develop supply continuity plans, and coach supplier teams on sustainable manufacturing and quality capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• Ideally 3 or more years of experience in supplier development, manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, or supply chain.
• Experience deploying Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies in manufacturing or supplier environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes; metal fabrication supplier experience is advantageous.
• Ability to influence and drive change across organizational boundaries, especially with external suppliers.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30–40%.
