Substation Project Manager (Power)

Location: Irvine, California, United States. US citizenship or Permanent Resident Status (Green Card) is required.

Compensation: $133,000–$192,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Manage substation engineering projects and programs throughout the full project lifecycle, including scope, proposals, execution, quality control, scheduling, budgeting, and closeout.
• Build and lead project teams, assigning work and mentoring, training, and supervising project engineers, EITs, coordinators, designers, CADD technicians, and administrative staff.
• Oversee workload, schedules, quality, utilization, morale, and performance across project teams and coordinate workshare with staff in multiple offices.
• Lead QA/QC activities in accordance with hirify.global’s Quality Management Systems and client quality expectations.
• Oversee relevant non-engineering components, including public and agency engagement, permitting, right-of-way acquisition, and construction management.
• Support client management, marketing, proposal development, and hiring plans for regional power delivery programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; an electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• At least 7 years of related experience, including a minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position’s location, such as a PE or P.Eng license.
• US citizenship or Permanent Resident Status (Green Card) is required due to client contract requirements.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; Access experience is a plus.
• Strong leadership, organization, project management, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with system protection and planning, communications, distribution, and transmission lines.
• Exposure to public involvement, environmental permitting, and real estate acquisition.
• Microsoft Access experience.
