What you will do

• Lead the Building Engineering Services electrical engineering section for the New England region.
• Design and technically review medium- and low-voltage systems, including normal and emergency power, generators, UPS systems, lighting, fire alarm, security, communications, and motor controls.
• Lead electrical design work from feasibility studies and conceptual design through construction documents, construction administration, commissioning, and project close-out.
• Prepare basis-of-design documents, contract drawings, specifications, load analyses, power system studies, equipment schedules, grounding plans, and site power and lighting plans.
• Visit project sites, verify existing conditions, monitor construction, resolve field issues, review shop drawings, and support cost and infrastructure assessments.
• Coordinate with owners, clients, contractors, and other disciplines; oversee quality assurance and quality control; and mentor junior electrical engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis.
• At least 10 years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position location, such as a PE or P.Eng license.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, signal, life safety, and building management systems.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
• Active participation in an employee-owned, collaborative work culture.

Nice to have

• Specialty lighting controls, sequences of operation, and controls diagram experience.
• Fire alarm, security, and telecommunications systems design experience.
• Knowledge of sustainable building design and LEED AP or WELL AP certification.
• Commissioning or retro-commissioning experience, including CEM or commissioning authority certification.
