Senior Lead Electrical Engineer

Location: Rockville, Maryland, USA; full-time, onsite role.

Salary: USD 170,000–225,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead electrical systems design and engineering for advanced and complex projects through studies, conceptual design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Oversee electrical discipline workflows, budgets, schedules, quality, and deliverables across multiple projects.
• Design and coordinate power, lighting, grounding and bonding, data, security, fire alarm, raceway, cable tray, and other electrical support systems.
• Prepare calculations, basis of design reports, code evaluations, one-line diagrams, plans, schedules, specifications, and construction drawing packages.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors, manufacturers, and construction trade partners.
• Support construction through RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch lists, field surveys, progress reports, and resolution of non-compliant conditions.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
• 15 years of professional experience in a relevant AEC firm environment.
• Professional Engineer registration in good standing.
• Advanced experience with electrical lighting, power, and special systems design and engineering calculations.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical and building codes and standards, including NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, and/or IEEE.
• Ability to lead teams, manage complex tasks and budgets, coordinate disciplines, and mentor less experienced engineers and designers.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and BIM software.
• Advanced knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading field surveys, troubleshooting electrical systems, and coordinating construction partners.
• Ability to travel for client development, project execution, and training.
