TL;DR

Location: USA - Florida - St. Petersburg; onsite manufacturing role

What you will do

  • Support manufacturing and technical operations while improving productivity, capacity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead Lean, Kaizen, automation, production optimization, and new product introduction initiatives.
  • Bridge R&D and production through product transfer, factory readiness, and design-for-manufacturability reviews.
  • Plan and manage capital equipment projects, including machine specifications, procurement support, and implementation.
  • Develop process, tooling, and equipment validations, engineering change orders, and standard operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot assembly equipment, perform root cause analysis and corrective actions, and provide technical support for CAPA investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • 8+ years of experience, preferably in medical device manufacturing or another FDA-regulated industry.
  • Experience with tooling and fixture design, welding, machining, and manufacturing equipment troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of FDA, ISO, and ISO 9001 requirements, process validation, CAPA, and design for manufacturability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, communicate with suppliers and customers, and mentor junior engineers and technicians.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Fanuc or Epson robots, automation systems, Cognex or Keyence vision systems, ultrasonic welding, leak testing, and vibratory feeding.
  • PLC Ladder Logic, Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI connectivity, and Ethernet/IP experience.
  • Electrical troubleshooting with low-voltage DC and 120/240/480 VAC systems.
  • Injection molding experience, particularly with plastic injection-molded components.
  • MiniTab, statistics, and Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt experience.
