Manufacturing Engineer I

What you will do

• Coordinate and perform activities that ensure injection-molded components and system assemblies remain functional and manufacturable after product release.
• Redesign and modify components and systems to improve manufacturing reliability and support manufacturing activities.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve customer complaints and product quality issues requiring engineering support.
• Coordinate with tooling engineers and Manufacturing to produce components and samples that meet specifications.
• Create and modify bills of materials, engineering masters, quality inspection procedures, work instructions, tests, and fixtures.
• Maintain controlled engineering documentation in accordance with ISO practices and support environmental housekeeping requirements.

Requirements

• Undergraduate engineering degree required, preferably in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering.
• Three to ten years of experience in production support or product design, primarily involving injection-molded parts and assemblies.
• Fluency in 3D modeling of parts and assemblies.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment involving sitting, standing, and reaching, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Strong written and oral communication, multitasking, deadline management, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of injection molding processes and tool design related to design for manufacturability.
• Experience presenting ideas to senior management and implementing process improvements.
