Senior Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: East Providence, Rhode Island, USA. Mixed office, laboratory, and manufacturing environment with approximately 10% travel.

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional quality initiatives across design, manufacturing, and administrative processes.
• Manage corrective action activities, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive actions.
• Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, statistical tools, and process optimization methods.
• Develop, revise, and document quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and measurement systems.
• Conduct ISO 9001:2015 internal audits and coordinate audits involving external bodies, agencies, and customers.
• Support new product development, supplier quality, change management, product qualification, FMEAs, control plans, and reliability planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least 4 years of quality assurance experience in an ISO 9000 manufacturing environment or equivalent.
• Intermediate problem-solving skills, including Root Cause Analysis, 8D, PDCA, and DMAIC.
• Basic understanding and training in at least three areas including probability and statistics, Cpk, MSA, SPC, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and Design of Experiments.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation and create mechanical design documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Experience with injection molding and machined-part equipment and processes.
• Knowledge of advanced Lean methods such as Value Stream Mapping, RIE, 6S, and Continuous Flow.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with Minitab and additional knowledge of pneumatics, data acquisition, gauging, electronics, sensors, or chemical formula preparation.
