TL;DR
K1 Program Engineer (IoT): Owning the K1 stationary product family in production and the field while leading development of next-generation public safety and security hardware with an accent on product quality, reliability, system integration, and regulatory validation. Focus on managing technical risks, troubleshooting deployed electromechanical systems, coordinating manufacturing and supply chain activities, and driving production ramp for new products.

Location: Sunnyvale, California — on-site at the headquarters

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 base, depending on experience and qualifications

What you will do

  • Own all technical aspects of the K1 stationary product family across production and field deployments.
  • Lead the next-generation K1 Retrofit Kit from concept through validation, regulatory approvals, production ramp, and integration with the Signals platform.
  • Support development of the K1 Capsule and K1 Super Towers.
  • Drive product quality, reliability, installation standards, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for deployed units.
  • Manage schedules, technical risks, design reviews, BOM cost targets, build complexity, and program documentation.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and service to meet cost, quality, cybersecurity, scalability, and customer-support goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development, sustaining engineering, or program engineering involving emergency communications, life-safety systems, telecommunications, IoT platforms, or electromechanical systems.
  • Understanding of outdoor-rated, field-deployed devices, including enclosures, AC and solar power, PoE, cellular and VoIP communications, remote management, and cybersecurity.
  • Hands-on experience building, validating, and supporting integrated hardware platforms in production.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with UL, FCC, ADA, NFPA, and campus life-safety requirements.
