TL;DR
Sr. Electrical New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and continuously improving supply chain, manufacturing, and installation processes for safety-critical electrical and avionics products with an accent on PCB/PCBA integration, DFX reviews, manufacturability, and reliability. Focus on building NPI frameworks, validating production readiness, managing supplier quality, and solving complex hardware and process issues from prototype through production.

Location: Onsite at the facility in Mountain View, California, United States. Travel up to 20% required.

Salary: $140K–$205K annually, plus equity and stock options.

What you will do

  • Produce, integrate, test, diagnose, inspect, and maintain electrical and avionics assemblies, including PCBs, PCBAs, HITL test equipment, electro-mechanical assemblies, and COTS products.
  • Source and qualify electrical and avionics products, troubleshoot issues, and conduct design for excellence reviews.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, quality, and certification teams to improve producibility, compliance, risk mitigation, cost, and reliability.
  • Lead NPI frameworks, technical review methodologies, design for test reviews, readiness criteria, risk assessments, and validation strategies.
  • Develop quality control plans, inspection infrastructure, and manufacturing processes for new products.
  • Manage supplier relationships and lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or systems engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience with NPI of PCBs and PCBAs, including design, supply chain, manufacturing, inspection, or testing.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting DFX reviews for electrical or avionics designs.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing, processing, and materials experience in a safety-critical environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with CAD and PLM software such as Altium, NX, or Teamcenter.
  • Must provide documentation establishing U.S. person or non-U.S. person status for access to export-controlled information.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AS9100, 14 CFR 21.137, or 14 CFR Part 145.
  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, setting up, and operating complex hardware in a safety-critical environment.
